Cafe Sevilla to replace Saddle Ranch Chop House at Triangle Square in Costa Mesa
Cafe Sevilla will replace the shuttered Saddle Ranch Chop House at Triangle Square with Spanish-European food, music and dancing.
Saddle Ranch had been in the top floor space for five years before closing in March 2018.
“Drywall is being built as we speak,” Eric Van den Haute, one of the owners of Cafe Sevilla, said recently.
Known for its tapas – small Spanish appetizers – Cafe Sevilla will also feature a new outdoor patio bar. While patrons wine and dine, there will be live music from house DJs, singers and a European Latin jazz ensemble.
Some evenings the restaurant will feature professional Flamenco and Tango dancers. The main dining room will be able to convert into a dance area for diners to show off their moves and shed off some calories before grabbing another gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimp with white wine and chile).
The Costa Mesa location will be a fourth installment of Cafe Sevilla in California – two are in Long Beach and San Diego. A Riverside spot was closed earlier this year following disagreements with city officials.
“One of the things we look forward to is to really incorporate ourselves within the community,” Anne Van den Haute, co-owner of Cafe Sevilla, said about their new opening.
“The diversity of Orange County is reflective of Cafe Sevilla,” Eric Van den Haute said.
The two hope to have a soft opening in December and to officially open early next year.
