Just in time to bring awareness to National Child Abuse Prevention Month, nearly 200 cyclists are set to participate in the 2016 Tour de OC Bike-a-Thon fundraiser on Saturday, May 21 in Costa Mesa at Vanguard University. Tour de OC provides funding to send more than 100 Orange County Foster Care children to a week-long faith-based Royal Family Kids Camp and allows them to experience its Mentorship Program.
Beginning at 6 a.m. with start and finish at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, Tour de OC provides 25, 55 and 100 mile routes to meet the needs of novice and experts cyclists. Riders are welcome to show up ride day to register, or may register on line at tourdeoc.org.
The opening ceremony is at the starting line between Vanguard University and Newport Mesa Church at 55 Fair Drive in Costa Mesa across from the Orange County Fairgrounds.
Tour de OC participants are also invited to attend a day-long Expo on the Vanguard campus, at the corner of Fair and Newport Boulevard. Tour de OC’s presenting sponsor, The Triangle, just moments away at Newport Blvd. and 19th St., provides special dining offers online, perfect for enjoying after the event.
